Crystal City Art & Technology  Camp
About:
The Arlington Artists' Academy Art & Technology Camp is a multidisciplinary summer camp that acts as a creative hub for enhancing self-esteem, creative expression, and academic performance. Merging the arts with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) topics, the camp fosters innovative thinking, creative problem solving, and command for fine arts principles to shape the world's future professionals, artists, scientists, and engineers.  Campers participate in a variety of fun, hands-on activities to gain exposure to painting, digital art and design, fabrication, performing arts, and creative writing. This camp is designed to nurture both sides of children’s brains and foster the new thinking skills young people need in the new economy.  It serves as a one-stop-shop for all things art and science. Each camper participates in all camps offered on rotating basis, so they are exposed to various artistic disciplines and STEM topics.
A Collaborative Effort:
This camp is made possible through a creative partnership between the Arlington Artist's Alliance, Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID), Vornado/Charles E. Smith, and organizations that make up Crystal City’s Art Underground including Gallery Underground, ArtJamz Underground, and Synetic Theater. Set amidst the Crystal City Innovation District and the Art Underground, the camp offers an opportunity to tap into the creative energy and innovative spirit characterizing Crystal City.
